Abstract:
Madagascar is home to countless varieties of flora and fauna.
It is characterized by its rich ecosystem and is one of the world's hot spots.
However, the island is subject to strong anthropogenic pressure that damages the environment and demolishes this exceptional biodiversity.
The question therefore arises as to whether farmers have intentionally destroyed their environment.
The municipalities of Andasibe in the Alaotra-Mangoro region, Ranomafana in the Anosy region and Andranofasika in the Boeny region have been the study areas; they are surrounded by forests with a high concentration of biodiversity.
Surveys were conducted with villagers to assess the local populationRSQUOs apprehension of the environment and to conduct statistical analyzes based on the data collected.
The analysis of the agrarian system and subsistence activities highlights the difficulties of access to agricultural land.
The understanding of the environmental situation underlines a tendency of continuity in the ecosystem pressures.
