Abstract:
Landscapology, as a new emerging inter-discipline, has been making efforts to strike the balance between socio-economic development and natural environment. According to its historical evolution, Landscapology has been closely tied to the development of subjects such as agriculture, architecture and art. Given a variety of different and confusing definitions in landscape study and the current disorderly development in China's landscape industry, this paper firstly put forward the philosophy of 3As based on the above three subjects' individual characteristics, evolution process and their inter-relationships, introducing this landscapology philosophy as the trinity of landscape agriculture, landscape architecture and landscape art. In addition, the 3As were further discussed from the perspective of the theory base, the practical meaning as well as the disciplinary development. Then the paper exhibited the theoretical construction of landscapology, and analyzed the respective cooperation and combination between 3As and landscapology in details. Finally, it created and demonstrated a landscapology educational system under the philosophy of 3As in China. It is concluded that the development of modern landscapology is a process of cultivating a brand new philosophy driven by the continuous integration of 3As. Besides, the philosophy of 3As could become a standard of landscape evaluation in China's future practice.
