Abstract:
The objective of this study was evaluation of plum cultivar productivity in commercial plantings in first years of cultivation. Plum cultivars were evaluated in three locations with different tree density. High yields were recorded by the cultivar ‘Hanita’ with cumulated yield after six years of cultivation 102.0 t/ha and by the cultivar ‘Elena’ 98.1 t/ha. Cultivars ‘Hanita’, ‘Elena’, ‘Katinka’ and ‘Tophit’ were evaluated only six years due to the young planting. Cultivars ‘President’ with cumulated yield 198.8 t/ha (in location Končina A), ‘Stanley’ with 156.2 t/ha, ‘Opal’ with 114.0 t/ha and ‘Presenta’ with 82.1 t/ha were evaluated as the best cultivars after eight years of cultivation. Characteristics of fruits were recorded in recently grown cultivars. Results confirm higher production of newly cultivated cultivars in modern high dense plantings.
