Abstract:
Phytoplasmas detected in red and white currant with full blossom symptoms in the Czech Republic were classified as aster yellows phytoplasma (16Sr I-B) and apple proliferation phytoplasma (16Sr X) on the basis of restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis of PCR-amplified 16S rDNA segments. A phytoplasma was successfully transmitted to dodder plants and the infection was confirmed by phytoplasma specific PCR and RFLP analysis.
