THE EFFECT OF COCONUT WATER AND ZEOLITE ON MICROPROPAGATION OF POTATO SHOOT

Authors:   Y. Jayasih, D.I.G. Wattimena
DOI:   10.17660/ActaHortic.1994.369.49
Abstract:
Coconut water at the rate of : 0, 10, 20 and 30 % and zeolite 0, 0.8, 1.6 and 2.4 % were added to a micropropagation medium of potato. The medium consists of Murashige and Skoog basal salt and NAA 0.01 mg/l, GA3 0.3 mg/l. The result showed that addition of coconut water tended to increase the member of shoots, and total nodes at each harvest. On the other hand addition of zeolite tended to decrease those variables. However, the negative effect of zeolite was not observed in cultures established in high concentration of coconut water.
