Abstract:
Two Ca formulations [CaEDTA, Nutrical (NC)] and paclobutrazol (PP333), a gibberellin synthesis inhibitor, were applied to rabbiteye blueberry bushes (Vaccinium ashei Reade cv. 'Tifblue') to study their effects on fruit quality and shelf life.
Both CaEDTA and NC, in addition to maintaining firmness and decreasing ethyrene production, also maintained the harvest quality and extended the shelf life of blueberry fruit.
PP333 application induced favourable effects on the fruits.
