| Abstract:
The title of this paper is taken from the workshop held at the 23rd Congress of the International Society for Horticultural Science, held in Florence, Italy, 27 August - 3 September 1990. Speakers representing 6 continents were invited to address the topic, and their remarks are summarized in the papers which follow. The topic is one of several which the Working Group on Temperate Zone Fruits in the Tropics and Subtropics is currently addressing. | |
