| Abstract:
Some types of microcuttings taken from growing shoots of 4 year-old potted jojoba plants were established on a medium containing MS salts and vitamins supplemented with 1 mg/l of Zeatin and 0.1 mg/l of Gibberellic acid (GA3). From the buds of apical, single node and binodal microcuttings new shoots 1.5–2.0 cm long arose after 4, 5–6, and 9 weeks, respectively. The initial explants without leaves were not able to produce new shoots. The shoots showed a multiplication rate of 3.5 on a proliferating MS basal medium containing 2.0 mg/1 of Zeatin, 2.0 mg/l of GA3 and 0.001 mg/l of naphthyleneaceticacid (NAA), without callus production or vitrification. | |
