Abstract:
Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) is an important soft fruit crop in Estonia.
The soft fruit collection of the Polli Horticultural Research Centre of the Estonian University of Life Sciences (58°7'26”N; 25°32'43”E) consist of 57 strawberry cultivars.
The genotypes of 20 strawberry cultivars from several breeding programmes (Canada, Estonia, Germany, Great Britain, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia and the United States) were evaluated.
Their phenological traits, winter-hardiness, yield, fruit weight and quality were determined in the period 2018-2020. The cultivar 'Lord' (Russian) had the best yield.
The cultivars 'Filut' (Poland), 'Helean' and 'Edu' (Estonia) were winter hardy.
The cultivar 'Filon' (Poland) had a high yield potential.
