Abstract:
Red (R) light of LED night break (NB) could inhibit floral bud differentiation on chrysanthemum cultivar ‘Jimba’, but not in cultivar ‘Iwa no hakusen’. Complex LED mixed red and far-red (R+FR) light of NB could inhibit floral bud differentiation on both cultivars. For the purpose of saving energy and using LED light effectively, we tested several treatments of different R+FR light intensities of NB lighting on cultivar ‘Iwa no hakusen’. The result showed that it could inhibit floral bud differentiation on ‘Iwa no hakusen’ by the NB of R+FR (630 nm + 735 nm) light which peak was at 0.15 + 0.15 µmol•m-2•s-1•nm-1 or 0.15+0.20 µmol•m-2•s-1•nm-1.
