Abstract:
Cultivation techniques of the combat associated with chemical interventions used to date have not allowed effective protection against Parlatoria blanchardi of the date palm.
Thus, the gradual increase of this diaspine from one year to another makes the fight more difficult, white cochineal causes a reduction in yield and commercial quality of dates.
The study of the evolution of fecundity of this diaspine in one year permits to determine the starting date and the great periods of the pont.
The control test performed by a systemic insecticide Spirotetramate was made in a modern palmeraie located in the region of Biskra (Algeria). The evaluation of the biological activity of this product compared to a control was done in 70 days.
The evolution of the pont presented by two major periods; spring is the largest with a mean fecundity equal to 6.64 eggs per female and the other autumn with 5.05 eggs per female whose fecundity annual mean equals to 3, 2 eggs per female.
The foliar treatment performed at 1 february 2010 by Spirotetramate at a dose 0.75 g/L causes the reduction in fecundity up to 50%, with a remanence of 70 days thanks to its action on the process of ovogenesis by disrupting lipid biosynthesis.
