NUTRICOTE - COATED FERTILIZERS PROCESSED WITH POLYOLEFIN RESINS

Authors:   A. Shibata, T. Fujita, S. Maeda
Abstract:
New technology has been exploited regarding the coating of fertilisers with polyolefin resins. Each granule of Nutricote receives a precisely uniform thickness of coating.

The release rates of nutrients from the granules is controlled by the addition of an agent added to the polyolefin resin extending release periods from 100, 140, 180, 270, to 360 days.

The release rate of nutrients from the granule depends primarily on soil temperature, but also to a very small degree upon soil moisture, pH, and texture.

The leaching of nutrients from soil samples receiving a heavy dosage of Nutricote is very small in comparison with conventional synthetic fertilisers.

Nutricote can provide nutrients matched with the rate of plant growth from a single basal application, resulting in excellent yields and quality.
