Abstract:
The yield of underground parts and the valtrate content, examined in Centranthus ruber were not significantly influenced by mineral fertilization.
However the highest yield of underground parts, observed in the case of treatment with NK /99.4 q/ha/ and NPK /103.7 q/ha/, was associated with a highest valtrate content /1.37% and 1.23%, respectively/. A high average yield of underground parts, as well as relatively high content of a single active valtrate substance indicated that this plant material could be a really good drug source of pharmaceutical value.
