Abstract:
The effect of three different herbicides Tramat /ethofumesate/, Kerb 50/W /propyzamid/ and Afalon /linuron/ on flower production, on weeds and on the content of ess.oil of camomile has been investigated in a field study.
The results point out that the herbicide Afalon had an excellent exterminating effect on weeds, Kerb controlled the weeds relatively well with exception of Senecio vulgaris and Galinsoga ciliata.
The weed controlling effect of Tramat was insufficient.
During this year /1978/ by using camomile type "Offstein" the yield of fresh plant, drug and ess.oil content was very low.
The camomile plants treated with various herbicides showed differences in the total content of ess.oil as well as in the quantitative composition of the useful substances.
At first Afalon inhibited plant development.
In the first and partial in the second harvest a significantly lower drug yield and oil content was found for the Afalon treated plants in relation to control variants and the other herbicide treated drugs.
The individual components of ess.oil were not essentialy influenced by Afalon.
In this aspect the result of Tramat and Kerb correspond very well with former investigations.
