Abstract:
In experiments carried out to study the effect of irrigation and mineral fertilization the following results were obtained.
The highest yield of herb and roots have been obtained by an irrigation when the sucking power of the soil surpassed 0.2 Atm.
The yield increases obtained in comparison with not irrigated plants are: 29.3 % fresh herb, 23.3 % dry herb, 41.4 % fresh roots and 30.5 % dry roots.
The influence of mineral fertilization on yield of belladonna was not considerable.
Irrigation and mineral fertilization had no essential effect on alkaloid content.
The yield of alkaloids was a function of herb and root yields.
