Abstract:
Chelidonium majus L. (Papaveraceae) contains up to 0,5% alkaloids in herb and up to 2% in the roots.
Up to now the commercial drug will be collected from natural sites mainly.
In field experiments the biennial and the winter-annual cultivation was proved at two sites (mineral and organic soil). Harvest was carried out at six times starting at full flowering.
Concerning the yields the earlier sowing in spring was the best one.
The yields reached in these experiments were 20 – 50 dt/ha dry herb per cut (all together up to 140 dt/ha herbal drug per crop) and 10 – 20 dt/ha root drug.
The better growth and yield was registered on organic soil in comparison to mineral soils.
