| Abstract:
As long as the working mechanism of semen cucurbitae ist not known, only those pumpkin seeds should be used for medicinal purposes with which recent clinical or medical tests have been made. This applies, to our knowledge, only to cucurbita pepo convar. citrullinina var. styriaca. These seeds can be identified by their anatomic and histochemical characteristics and their degree of ripeness can be determined by their protochlorophyll content. The seeds should also be microbiologically controlled. | |
