ISHS Acta Horticulturae 96: II International Symposium on Spices and medicinal Plants

TROPAN ALKALOIDS (HYOSCYAMINE AND SCOPOLAMINE), MODEL FOR REGULATION STUDIES OF THE PRODUCTION OF DUBOISIA MYOPOROIDES R.BR. AND DATURA SP. GROWING IN CONTROLLED CONDITIONS.

Authors:   L. Cosson, N. Kuntzmann-Cougoul
Abstract:
Studying ecophysiological regulation of tropan alkaloids production, we show sensibility of Datura species to stress conditions and bacterial infection (crown-gall). Isolated organs of australian Duboisia myoporoides R.Br. allow physiological studies of alkaloid regulation. Plants are cultivated under controlled conditions in chambers of the Phytotron of C.N.R.S. in Gif-sur-Yvette, in which climatic parameters are well known.
