Abstract:
On several sweet cherry trees cv.
Big Moreau, grown in the vicinity of Zajecar and Knjazevac, the authors detected a virus infection.
The symptoms of the disease were mottling with diffuse chlorotic ring spots and leaf deformations.
The disease was transmitted by grafting sweet cherry seedlings as well as by mechanical inoculations to herbaceous plants Chenopodium quinoa, Cucumis sativus and sometimes to Nicotiana tabacum and N. glutinosa. There were two virus isolates.
Isolate B belongs to tobacco mosaic virus, while isolate A will be further studied.
