Abstract:
Established Prunus laurocerasus hedgerows, handpruned in former autumn, were sprayed with 0.25% MH-30 and 1,2,3% ACR 1093 (Dikegulac sodium a.i.90%) when shoots were 6 – 10 cm in length.
Results showed that : a) Only one treatment of both chemicals reduced shoot growth; b) MH repeated sprangs were practically needless; c) all ACR 1093 concentrations removed the apical dominance and induced lateral shoots formation; d) MH and ACR 1093 at all tested concentrations caused phytotoxic symptoms.
Biotests of young leaves sampled,4,7,21 days after the treatments, from the second and the third node, revealed that both chemicals induced a strong drop in the level of GA-like subst., ACR moderate reduction of IAA-like subst. combined with increase of ABA-like s.
