Abstract:
The effects of growth regulators on the development of flower buds excised from the hyacinth bulbs were investigated.
Gibberellic acid treatment accelerated development and anthocyanin pigmentation of florets excised from unchilled hyacinth bulbs.
The treatment of florets with abscisic acid decreased their longevity by inducing wilting.
BA treatment prevented the opening and coloration of florets and the senescence of these florets was greatly delayed.
Benzyladenine counteracted the effect of ABA. The effect of growth regulators on the development of florets taken from chilled hyacinth bulbs was less pronounced.
