Abstract:
Water stresses at 3 periods of the vegetative season were applied to Golden Delicious trees, grafted on M.9 and planted in pots of 140 l.
Middle-of-summer water stresses had the more damaging effects: smaller caliber of the trunk and of the shoots, lesser growth consequently, smaller fruits with poorer colour.
Spring water stress increases russeting.
No noxious effect has been found from late-summer water stresses.
