EPIDEMIOLOGY OF FIRE BLIGHT IN THE FIELD (FÖHR) AND IN THE GROWTH CHAMBER

Abstract:
Observations in the field demonstrated that the first outbreak of fire blight in ornamentals following natural infection occurred in the first half of May, about 5 weeks earlier than in fruit trees.
In additional growth chamber experiments using various rosaceous ornamentals the climatic conditions for disease development were determined.
Low temperatures were more important in limiting the bacteriosis than humidity.
