Autochthonous cultivars like ‘Rebra’ and ‘Generos’ as well as ‘Jonathan’, ‘Golden Delicious’, ‘Starkrimson’, ‘Idared’ and ‘Florina’ were evaluated in comparison with new introduced ones like: ‘Goldrush’, ‘Dalinred’, ‘Dalinbel’, ‘Ariwa’, ‘Enterprise’, ‘Granny Smith’ and ‘Braeburn’ which are grown at Pitesti – Maracineni, Romania in terms of fruit quality: market appearance, flesh, taste and nutritive characteristics, according to the present demands on the European market.
