ISHS Acta Horticulturae 823: XI International Symposium on the Processing Tomato

THE USE OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WITH PROCESSING TOMATOES

Author:   B. Schoedel
Abstract:
Agdia, has been in operation since 1981 in north-central Indiana. At this location, Agdia operates a Testing Services Laboratory, a GMP production facility, a Research Laboratory, and its business headquarters. Our Marketing Department is housed in another building close by. The research team does basic applied research, as well as, product development and contract work for government and industry. Our research encompasses chemistry, biochemistry, immunochemistry, molecular biology, plant pathology, and general microbiology. Agdia has tests for about 230 plant pathogens and plant traits. These tests can detect plant pathogenic viruses, bacteria, fungi, phytoplasma, and viroids. We also have tests for plant hormones and proteins expressed in transgenic plants, such as Bt endotoxins and the enzymes that enable a plant to withstand exposure to herbicide The format for these tests is mostly ELISA, but we also have our ImmunoStrip® line of products, nucleic acid hybridization, and PCR (conventional and real-time) methods of detection. All of the buffers, reagents, and accessories to perform these tests can be obtained through Agdia.
