CULTIVARS AND CLONES OF ACTINIDIA KOLOMIKTA FOR FLORICULTURE IN LITHUANIA

Authors:   L. Chesoniene, R. Daubaras
Keywords:   morphological peculiarity, spring frost, variegation,
Abstract:
Seasonal development and growth as well as phenotypic diversity of Actinidia kolomikta cultivars and clones were determined. The vegetation period of the cultivars and clones continued from 176 to 188 days. Spring, as the only critical period for this species, was determined under the climatic conditions of Lithuania. There were statistically reliable differences between cultivars and clones in an average of mixed and vegetative shoot length, which determines the luxuriance of plants. The informative peculiarities were selected for phenotypic characterization of cultivars and clones of A. Kolomikta. The most attractive female cultivars and male clones were selected and recommended to use for landscape gardening.
