Authors:   E.E. Lima, R.M.F. Figueirędo, A.J.M. Queiroz, A.S. Silva
Keywords:   facheiro, drying, isotherms
Abstract:
The moisture adsorption isotherms and the isosteric heat of adsorption for the facheiro (Cereus squamosus) flour dried at 60°C were determined in the present work. The isotherms of flour were obtained at the temperatures of 10, 20, 30 and 40°C, by means of gravimetric static method, using satured salt solutions. The GAB, Oswin, Halsey and D’arcy-Watt models were fitted to the experimental data by the nonlinear regression analysis method. The isosteric heat of adsorption was calculated by means of Clausius-Clayperon and Sopade and Ajisegiri equations. According to the results, the D’Arcy-Watt model presented the best fit and the Sopade and Ajisegiri represented the isosteric heat of adsorption.
