THINNING OF PEACHES WITH GROWTH REGULATORS |

| Abstract:
Ethrel at 100 ppm effectively thinned Cardinal, Redhaven, Collins and Springtime peaches and advanced the maturity of fruits of Collins and Cardinal. NAA at 40 ppm applied at ovule length 8.7 – 9.2 mm thinned Cardinal and Redhaven only : at 60 ppm it caused overthinning. 2,4,5-T at 100 ppm induced moderate abscission, earlier ripening and increased fruit size only on Cardinal. Results of applications of 2,4-D and of a mixture of 2,4,5-T and CCC were unsatisfactory. | |
