Abstract:
Parthenocarpic fruits of tomatoes, apples and pears were induced by different chemicals in order to see whether the concentration of endogenous hormones could be changed significantly.
It was shown in extensive experiments that this aim could be achieved, particularly with tomatoes.
The concentration of IAA varied between 16 and 45%, that of GA between 150 and 3600% and that of ABA between 37 and 60% in parthenocarpic fruits compared with seeded fruits (100%).
