Abstract:
In 1976 trees of the self-sterile sour cherry cv.
Pándy were treated at full bloom with a mixture of NAA (5 to 25 ppm) and GA (100 ppm), or with 2,4,5-TP (20 ppm) only.
In 1977 mixtures of GA (50 – 100 ppm) with 2,4,5-TP (15 to 20 ppm) were used.
Treatments containing 2,4,5-TP resulted in economic crops of 30 to 80 kg/tree, compared with 6 to 9 kg/tree for controls, but average fruit weight was reduced.
No effects of treatment on the nucleic acid or protein content of the embryos was observed.
