Abstract:
This study was carried out to determine the effect of different media on rooting of leafy stem cuttings of two Iranian olive cultivars: 'Zard' and 'Rowghani' that have been selected for southern and central regions with hot and temperate climate. The tested substrates were sand, perlite and vermiculite and their combinations. This trial was conducted in 2002 as a factorial plan based on completely randomized block design. Results showed that percentage of rooted cuttings were affected by different media. The highest rooting rate was observed in coarse-fine Perlite in 'Zard' (87%) and sand+ coarse and fine perlite in 'Rowghani' (85%).
