| Abstract:
The research of autochthonous olive cultivars of Montenegrin coast was carried out in period 1963-1998. The five studied cultivars were: Zutica, Crnica, Sitnica, Drobnica and Lumbardeska – the results of the research have been published in professional and scientific journals. For this paper, we present unpublished data for the following five cultivars: Sarulja, Gloginja, Zinzulaca, Fran and Barkinja. These investigations included bio-pomological characteristics of the subject cultivars. On basis of the results obtained by this research, we may state that four of five studied cultivars are for production of oil, whereas the fifth one has combined traits. Basic bio-morphological characteristics of cultivar Šarulja. It is distributed in a small number in the sub region of Boka Kotorska (Grbalj and Luštica). Its trunk has an average formation; its crown is ramified. It is named after the color of its fruits, which gain many nuances of yellow-green laced with vine red and purple dots as they begin to ripen, so that the fruits are variegated. It belongs to late ripening cultivars, and does not have greater economic significance. Its fruits are tiny – fruit mass is 1.62 g. Raw oil contents in fruit is low – 16.14%. The oil has a high quality. Gloginja is also distributed in the sub region of Boka Kotorska (Sasovići, Herceg Novi). It has averagely luxuriant loose tree crown. It fructifies well, but irregularly. The fruit is tiny – 1.80 g, stone is tiny as well – 0.32 g. Its oil contents are average – 18.20. Oil has a good quality. Zinzulaca is distributed in Bar’s sub region (Budva). It was named after the shape of its fruit, which reminds of a fruit of Ziziphus vulgaris. Its tree is luxuriant with upright branches. Its fruits are average large, fruit mass – 3.41 g. Stone mass is 0.39 g. Its fruitfulness is average. Oil contents are also average – 19.64%, oil quality good. It fructifies alternatively. Fran - cultivar sporadically distributed in the sub region of Bar (Ulcinj). Its tree has average luxuriance with upright branches. Fructifies alternatively. The fruits are average large – 3.91g; stone average large – 0.48 g. Oil contents are excellent – 22.11%. Its oil has a good quality. Barkinja is distributed in Boka Kotorska sub region (Strp, Sasovici). The three is averagely luxuriant, upright, weakly productive. Its fruits are large, fruit mass – 5.24 g. Stone also large – 0.75 g. Fruits have double purpose (oil, table olives). Oil contents are average – 18.79%. Oil has a good quality, mass consistency favorable, good taste. | |
