Abstract:
Hop stunt viroid (HSVd) has been detected in a number of cultivated fruit trees and several countries.
It was decided to look for HSVd in wild hop bushes because of natural infections of HSVd in several stone-fruit species (e.g., plum dapple fruit) occurring in Campania.
HSVd has been detected in cultivated hop only in Japan.
After four years of testing our results indicate that wild-hop in Campania is free of HSVd.
