ASSAY ON ANTIOXIDATION ACTIVITY IN LOQUAT (ERIOBOTRYA JAPONICA) GERMPLASM |

| Abstract:
Total free sugar and total flavonoid contents and antioxidation activity were analysed among 30 loquat accessions. Total free sugar content was between 3.85 to 14.01%, showing wide difference among accessions. Total phenol content was between 14.08 to 40.38 μmol∙g-1dwt and ‘RH42’ recorded the highest value among accessions. Total flavonoid content was between 4.64-18.0 μmol∙g-1dwt among accessions. From the assay of antioxidation activity by ABTS method, the accessions with higher total phenol and flavonoid content showed higher correlation with antioxidation activity. | |
