Abstract:
To establish an efficient method to grow Solanum tuberosum L. ‘Dejima’ through airlift bioreactors, the effect of culture vessel ecosystem were investigated.
The best growth of plantlets was obtained from explants when cultured in a 10 L bottle type bubble bioreactor including hormone-free MS liquid medium.
A 10 L bottle type bubble bioreactor, when compared with 100 ml Erlenmeyer flask conventional suspension culture, showed dramatic growth promotion of the plantlets.
Plantlets grew more vigorously in scale-up bioreactors than conventional suspension culture.
The results demonstrate the rapid, vigorous growth and development of airlift bioreactor to produce normal potato plantlets.
