Abstract:
cDNA-AFLP was used to identify a specific fragment that was induced at low temperature (15°C) and isolated from Changchun mici, a cucumber cultivar possessing chilling tolerance.
This fragment, named cctr 132, was not induced in the chilling sensitive cucumber cultivar Beijing jietou.
After recovering the fragment, sequencing and translating, the results of blastx and blastp in the GenBank of NCBI indicated that CCTR132 had 88.37% identities and 100% positives with the Oryza sativa putative lysine decarboxylase-like protein, respectively.
Also, the putative conserved domain of the lysine decarboxylase family, PGGXGTXXE, was detected in CCTR132, suggesting that cucumber chilling tolerance during germination is related to the expression of the lysine decarboxylase gene.
