DESIGN AND CLIMATE CONDITIONS OF A GROWING ROOM |

| Abstract:
The design and the climate conditions of a growing room for seedlings are described. To diminish lamp investment and electric supply costs and avoid supplementary heating, one half of the room is lighted continously and the plants from under the lamps are turned to the dark half of the room and vice versa after a fixed period of time (e.g. 12 hours). The warm air of the lighted part is used to heat the dark part. Irrigation, climate control and "day-night" change work automatically. To avoid CO2 losses and to get low temperature differences and high relative humidity of the air, the growing room is completely closed and cooling takes place through the walls by jacket cooling with outside air. | |
