Abstract:
The quantitative and qualitative composition of chamomile essential oil was determined of a diploid and tetraploid variety after a large-scale distillation.
Both the quantity and the constituents of the essential oil were modified by the raw material using: herb or flower-heads respectively fresh or dry.
A major factor causing differences in yield of chamomile essential oil may be the time between harvest and distillation, and the variety origin of chamomile plants.
Next differences may have to result from using of various harvesting methods, size of green parts, drying and still size.
