Abstract:
On the experimental farm La Nacla, situated in Motril (Granada province, Spain), in an area with a heavy concentration of greenhouses to grow vegetables, different tests were made during the 2003–04 season to evaluate the influence of different dosages of Ca++ and PO4H2- on crops grown without soil in unheated plastic greenhouses. In autumn, cucumbers were used and, in spring, tomatoes. Both in cucumber and in tomato, for the vegetative phase, two rates of Ca++ (4 and 5 mmol/L) and PO4H2- (1 and 2 mmol/L) were used. In the productive phase, the two Ca++ values were 3.5 and 4.5 mmol/L while the PO4H2- values were 1 and 1.75 mmol/L. The analytic data from the drainage of the different Ca++ and PO4H2- treatments revealed significant differences according to the concentrations used in each, but these did not affect the commercial production of either tomato or cucumber, and no significant differences were found.
