Abstract:
The resistance of 10 populations of whiteflies Bemisia tabaci, collected from the tomato conventional farms in the Souss valley of Morocco, was evaluated for three commonly used insecticides (Cypermethrine, Deltamethrine and Endosulfan). Using Leaf-Dip bioassay, we concluded that the levels of resistance to Deltamethrine and Cypermethrine were slightly low and the resistance factors varied between 1 to 5 and 1 to 7, respectively. The highest resistance factor to both Pyrethroids (Cypermethrine and Deltamethrine) was registered by Population P7. However, the levels of B. tabaci resistance to Endosulfan were very low and the resistance factors do not exceeded RF=2. The resistance of B. tabaci to Endosulfan was homogeneous and 6/10 of populations teted were expressed a resistance factors equal to 2. The cross-resistance between these two pyrethroids was statistically not significant.
