APPROXIMATION OF LEAF AREA BY USING LEAF DIMENSIONS IN GUAVA

Author:   A. Singh
Keywords:   cultivars, multiple linear regressions, prediction of area
Abstract:
Different curve models were fitted for the estimation of leaf area in Guava cvs, Allahabad Safeda, Sardar and Lalit, using leaf length (L) and breadth (B) as independent factors. Four-regression equations were fitted to find out the best model for leaf area (LA) estimation in each cultivar. Among the various functions, leaf length (L), breadth (B) and product of length and breadth (L×B), breadth (B) was found most suitable factor in guava cultivar Allahabad Safeda and Sardar while in case of Lalit the factor product of length and breadth (LxB) was found most suitable for determining the leaf area.
