Abstract:
The present investigation was carried out at Horticultural Research farm, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam (Meghalaya) during the year 2003 in R.B.D. with three replications.
Seven guava cultivars namely Allahabad Safeda, L-49, Selection-12, Hybrid-1, Hybrid-6, Hybrid-7 and Hybrid-11 were propagated on local rootstock through patch budding.
The highest budding success (84.08%), maximum length of sprouts (36.89 cm), number of leaves/plant (29.67), leaf width (5.59 cm) and minimum number of days (27.67) taken for sprouting was recorded in cultivar Allahabad Safeda.
While, sprouts girth (2.71 cm) and leaf length (10.95 cm) was recorded under cultivar Hybrid-1.
