ISHS Acta Horticulturae 734: VIII International Symposium on Plum and Prune Genetics, Breeding and Pomology

UPDATED CHARACTERIZATION OF PLUM POX VIRUS ISOLATED FROM THE BALKAN AREA TO WESTERN EUROPE

Abstract:
Diverse isolates of plum pox pot virus (PPV) known to infect Prunus domestica were studied. Following their transfer onto peach GF305 and herbaceous hosts, samples were collected and treated to make the serological and molecular analyses. Classical procedures were used and permitted to show that there are some differences in PPV capsid cistrons, which enabled us to confirm the correlation between the diversity of the Prunus cultivar sources and the location areas where the virus isolates were collected.
