YIELD COMPONENTS OF ANNUAL CARUM CARVI L. GROWING IN ISRAEL |

| Abstract:
In order to evaluate the possibilities of growing annual caraway in Israel, various cultivation practices have been tested since 1973. Seeding early in winter, irrigation in spring, nitrogenous fertilization at seeding, and at least 37 plants per square meter, were found to be the optimal conditions. Triflan and Prometryne were the most advantageous herbicidal treatments. Under the optimal conditions described, it is possible to obtain seed yields of 2000 kg seeds per ha. | |
