| Abstract:
The real development of medicinal and spice plant cultivation began after World War II. The total activities of cultivation, trade and processing came soon under the control of the Union " Herbapol ". At the same time investigations were carried out and were centralized in the Institute of Medicinal Plants in Poznan. Achievements in improving of cultivation methods, introduction of new species to cultivation, plant breeding, plant protection, drying technique and mechanization as well as the trend in the improvement of cultivation in the near future are discussed in this paper. | |
