| Abstract:
This study was carried out in order to determine the suitable pollinators for the female pistachio cultivars such as “Uzun”, “Halebi”, “Kirmizi”, “Siirt” and “Ohadi” between 1980-2003 in Turkey. Fifty selected male types were used as material and shoot and stem growth rate, flowering time, suitability of the flowering times of the male types with female cultivars (flowering synchronization), the number of flower clusters on a secondary branch, length of flower clusters, viability and germination of pollen were investigated. According to the result of weighted ranking method; Type 10 (795 points) was found to be the most suitable male for Uzun and Halebi cultivars, it was Type 39 (750 points) for Siirt and Kirmizi cultivars, Type 79 (880 points) was found to be suitable male for Ohadi cultivar. | |
