Abstract:
Pre-sowing soak treatments with gibberellins dissolved in low pH aqueous solution, increased the germination and emergence rates of celery seeds at high temperatures.
The pre-sowing treatment allowed deeper sowing, which resulted in a decrease in the number of irrigations required.
In an unshaded nursery an economic number of transplants was raised from the treated seeds, sown at the high temperatures prevailing in Israel during the summer.
