Abstract:
The effects of a high pressure (68 atm) fog system on air temperature, humidity, leaf temperature and transpiration rate as functions of spray rate, canopy density, vent configuration and outside weather conditions in naturally ventilated greenhouses were studied experimentally.
Two canopy density and vent configuration treatments were investigated.
The evaporation efficiency was derived from data and its dependence on environmental and fog operation conditions was studied.
The revised cooling efficiency was shown to be a better index to characterize fogging systems, and its dependence on spray rate and ventilation rate was determined statistically.
