Abstract:
Cranberries and blueberries recently have become popular for growers in Latvia.
Latvia’s climatic conditions, although more suitable for cranberries, will allow for blueberry to grow.
Since success depends on the cultivar used the aim of this research was selection and evaluation of the best European cranberry genotypes, and evaluation of their cultivation and propagation possibilities.
The most valuable genotypes were selected on their yield and ability to be easily propagated.
Another investigation was of highbush blueberry propagation by softwood cuttings to determine the most suitable American highbush blueberry cultivars for our conditions.
