ISHS Acta Horticulturae 71: Symposium on Carnations

THE INFLUENCE OF BENZYLADENINE TREATMENT TO MOTHERPLANTS OF CARNATIONS

Author:   K.J. Mynett
Abstract:
It was found that benzyladenine /BA/ applied at concentrations from 25 mg/1 – 800 mg/1 as a spray on rooted cuttings of carnations promoted the number of lateral shoots significantly when compared with the untreated plants.

BA treatment can be used in motherplant production to get more cuttings, however the rooting quality of cuttings from the highest dose was insufficient.
